The first event of the Vibram Disc Golf ILL Spring Series, The Pine Hills Experiment #5 is officially postponed until Saturday, March 30th. The Pine Hills management, groundskeeper and myself have decided that with the current snow on the ground and more in the forecast followed by 40-50 degree weather that the course will be unplayable. I apologize for the inconvenience. I should have done a better job with scheduling the event in the first place. Full refunds will be given, or you want you can roll it over to March 30th. Everything will be the same for the series. Please help spread the word to anyone who was planning on coming out. I’ll be contacting everyone that is pre-registered over the next day.
Its time to come clean. I have side stepped a possible rules violation long enough….
I’m guilty of not weighing my discs before using them in competition. I’ve never knowingly used an overweight disc, nor have I ever actually weighed one of my discs. That all changes today:
I will personally weigh all discs that are in my bag. If a disc happens to be heavier than allowed, I will no longer throw it. If you would like to join me in bringing some honor and integrity to the game, click here and find out the maximum legal weight for your discs. Once you have the maximum allowable weights for each of your molds, get your discs weighed. Do the right thing.
I know that many of you may say, “Whats an extra gram or two gonna do?” I’m not interested in that conversation. What I’m interested in is playing this great game with honor and integrity. I want to play by the rules.
Will you join me?
PS- Who has a scale that I can borrow?

DG4PM- Disc Golf For Pat & Meredith
This July, I’ll be competing in the Professional Disc Golf Associations World Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina. I’m taking the wonderful opportunity that I have to compete in the World Championships and I’m turning it into a fund raising effort against cancer. I’m teaming up with The American Cancer Society (Team ACS) to Disc Golf For Pat & Meredith (DG4PM). Both my Mom, Pat and her sister, my Aunt Meredith lost their battles with Cancer. I’m seeking out donations in the form of a pledge for each throw (or shot) that I take in the World Championships. You can pledge as little as 1 penny per throw or simply donate a flat amount. All money will be donated to the American Cancer Society (and earmarked for Ovarian and Leukemia research). Everyone who makes a pledge or donates will have their name (or their logo) printed on shirts that I will wear during each round of the World Championships.
