Changes at Yahoo Sports and Disc Golf Articles

Over the past month there have been quite a few changes taking place at Yahoo, including lots of cut backs. Unfortunately last week my worst fears were realized when my sports beats were cut, taking away my ability to get paid for writing the disc golf articles that I’ve come to look forward to publishing nearly every day for almost a year now.

Fortunately, I found two sites on which I can publish a few disc golf articles a week, but of course that isn’t near enough considering the number of tournaments and various events throughout the nation that are taking place. The good news is that I found out today I can still publish on Yahoo’s Voices section, which means I won’t get paid for the article as I used to but I will still receive a small amount from the page views that each article receives. While I’m not sure if it will be enough to allow me to continue to write these and still pay the bills, but I’m definitely willing to try it out and see how it goes.

If you’ve liked reading my disc golf articles in the past, it would be greatly appreciated if you could pass them on to others who have an interest in the sport as much as possible so that I can continue to write them. I’m looking forward to (hopefully) covering the PDGA World Championships in Charlotte in conjunction with Disc Golf Planet TV in July and meeting many of the awesome disc golfers that I’ve so enjoyed writing about and spreading the word about this great sport.

Here is the first article published on Yahoo Voices, “Emina Weaver Crowned Champion at Disc Golf’s La Mirada Women’s Global Event,” with many more to come. Thanks again for your support!
