Innova to discontinue the Teebird
Wow…what a bomb to be dropped on the disc golf community. Innova announced that they are no longer producing Teebirds. The Teebird is often associated with a golfers mainstay driver. It was the disc that led Ken Climo to many of his 12 World Championships.
Reasoning behind this drastic move was described as being that it no longer holds a need in a golfers bag. Apparently golfer’s are forgoing its reliable traits for those of longer distance flying discs. Many golfers are opting for the new blizzard plastic or new discs like the Dominator or new Plus Molds.
Touring Pro Andy Hyzer was asked his thoughts on the news and replied, “…This is fantastic news. The Teebird is old and goes 20 feet shorter then all my longer drivers. There really was no need for the disc anymore.” Hyzer also went on to state “…the prototypes of the new Speed 16 discs are flying even farther.”
I dont support this move by Innova at all. The teebird has been my goto driver for 5 years.
What do you thing…let us know your thought!
