The Disc Golf Experience LLC is formed
Well, I finally did it, I got my business set up. The Disc Golf Experience LLC was formed on July 13th, 2012. While I have been writing my blog for almost 2 years, I decided I wanted to do more with this awesome sport than just write a blog. The first thing I am going to do is attempt to bring some fun and unique events to the disc golfing general public. I have played competetive golf for a long time and we do all sorts of fun events and tournaments that I think would be equally as enjoyable for disc golfers if there was someone that knew how to set them up. I am hoping to be that person. While my events will be local to SE WI, maybe some of the ideas I bring forward can be incorporated in your locales too. While these fun events and leagues will be a part of the business, it will only be a portion of what The Disc Golf Experience LLC will be doing.
The main intent of my business is going to focus on disc golf course design, installation, and maintenance since that is what drives me in this sport. I literally cannot get enough of stepping up to a new course with my notepad ready to analyze the course and look at the positives and negatives of the design and installation of the course, but also the fun and playability. I get such a rush when I plan my little road trips and when I arrive at a new course. I have played 420 courses in 23 states in the first 3 years and 7 months of playing this game, so obviously I have seen a lot of good and a lot of bad. I want to take my 20 years of professional experience in golf course maintenance and landscape design, installation, and maintenance and couple that with my obvious passion for this great game and help to promote proper design and installation of courses helping to reduce the amount of negative environmental impact our sport causes. I am looking to promote more sustainable courses that will be with us for decades rather than rushing to just install as many courses as we can that ends up creating safety issues and compaction and erosion.
